Important Travel, Health & Passport Requirements

Please read carefully before you travel

●  YOUR RESPONSIBILITY BEFORE TRAVELLING

It is the responsibility of the person travelling to ensure that they meet all passport, visa, immigration, health and entry requirements applicable to their destination.

Travel requirements can change at short notice. You must therefore check the latest Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) travel advice for every country you are travelling to or transiting through, both at the time of booking and again before departure.

FCDO advice provides important information including entry requirements, health and safety advice, security information and local laws and customs. You can also sign up to receive travel advice email alerts for your destination.

●  PASSPORTS, VISAS & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You are responsible for ensuring that you and all members of your travelling party hold the correct and valid documentation required for your journey. This includes ensuring that:

  • Your passport meets the validity requirements of your destination.

  • You have the appropriate visa, visa waiver, authorisation or other entry documentation required.

  • You meet any additional immigration or entry requirements applicable to the countries you are visiting or travelling through.

  • The details on your booking match the details shown on your travel documents.

Passport validity requirements vary by destination, so these should always be checked against the current FCDO advice rather than relying on a general three or six month rule. Current UK Government guidance confirms that travellers should ensure their passport meets the specific entry requirements of their destination and obtain the correct visa where required.

Azure Indies cannot accept responsibility for passengers who are unable to travel because of incorrect, incomplete or invalid travel documentation, subject always to your statutory rights and the applicable booking terms and conditions.

●  TRAVEL INSURANCE

You should arrange appropriate and comprehensive travel insurance as soon as possible after booking your trip.

Your insurance should be suitable for your individual circumstances, destination and planned activities, and you should ensure that any relevant existing medical conditions, or conditions under investigation, are declared to your insurer.

Please check your policy carefully, including the level of cancellation and medical cover provided and any exclusions that may apply.

Travelling without appropriate insurance could leave you responsible for significant costs should something go wrong. The FCDO recommends purchasing appropriate travel insurance as soon as possible after booking.

●  GHIC / EHIC & HEALTHCARE ABROAD

If eligible, you should consider obtaining a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) for each person travelling.

A GHIC provides access to medically necessary state healthcare in the European Economic Area (EEA) and certain other countries, generally on the same basis as residents of that country. Existing valid UK EHICs can continue to be used until they expire, subject to eligibility and destination.

UK GHICs are available free of charge through the NHS. Each family member requires their own card.

Please note: a GHIC or EHIC is not a substitute for comprehensive travel insurance. It does not cover every healthcare cost and does not cover services such as private medical treatment or medical repatriation.

●  PLEASE CHECK BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

Travel regulations and entry requirements can change. We strongly recommend checking the latest official advice before you go.
